I was surfing and found these nice period pictures of the Jewish Ghetto in Siauliai Lithuania. It must have been a tough life during the period and I can see why they defend their country so much today.

Oh yes. Lithuania is very nationalistic and would have been a great anti-USSR ally. they were the first of the Baltic nations to join NATO after the fall of the iron curtain.
