What a splendid website - yes, I had noticed Wim's contribution on a certain other Forum !

He's the guy who contacted me a couple of years back to confirm that he'd also identified Lancaster JB659 as being the 44th victim of Schnaufer, and parts of 'J-Johnnie' were included in the special display which can be seen at the website.

I think it is excellent news for someone to research a great - yet largely unknown to non-enthusiasts - ace such as Schnaufer in such depth.

I look forward very much to being able to purchase an English-language copy of the book......

When I last heard from Wim he was in the process of translating his book into English. I think Grub Street were looking to publish it.
We haven't spoken for a while but he was a fabulous help with my book "Airman Missing" about John Evans.
John was shot down by Schnaufer and spent more than 100 days on the run in Belgium.
