Wonderful stuff guys, great pictures too! I always enjoy to see pictures of green Normandy, I spent part of my childhood there. The finds are great. It seems like you had a really good time and you didn't even come by for a coffee either, I was only 5 hours away

Hi Haldin, if you wish you may go to the new member section and introduce you to the rogues, I'ms sure they will give you a warm welcome.

It was just lying on the surface of the field, 'cleaned off' by the recent rainfall. Here it is, much larger than life-size ( the other object is a 9mm bullet, found close to - again - Moissy Ford )....

At the other end of the spectrum, here's one of the larger objects I found during the week. Our rented cottage was located alongside one of the three 'corridors of death', the minor road from Trun to Camembert. Vast numbers of vehicles were destroyed here by artilllery and air attack. This huge piece of 'shrapnel' was lying in a field alongside the road....

The jagged edges are still very sharp and it's obviously from a projectile. Despite being heavy, the gauge is relatively thin, and is the same from top to bottom which is unlike most large-calibre shell fragments I've found.

So - aerial rocket ? Nebelwerfer ?

Nice piece of sharpnel. It's a great lottery. one day you go and you find nothing, the next day you find something nice. As you said rainfall, harvesting will shuffle the game over and over again. There will be many more relics there for years to come. You are right to pick them up, they become hard to find.
