Default University Dissertation -Expectations of Aerial Warfare

Hey everyone. im a third year university student doing a dissertation of expectations of aerial warfare. basically im trying to ascertain the extent to which the British public anticipated aerial warfare, i.e. the Blitz, or in another way how far the British public saw aerial bombardment against them becoming a reality. i have used the WW2 Peoples War webpage on the BBC website along other sources and i was hoping other may be able to recommend other primary sources of information. it would be even better if any one here who experienced the Blitz could provide insight for my dissertation question.

many thanks

mike

Have you looked at Airminded · Airpower and British society, 1908-1941 ?

Before the war started General Balboa of Italy (not sure of spelling) wrote alot on future air war and before him Billy Mitchell had alot of ideas.

Air Raid Protection, or ARP, was created in 1924 to deal with the eventuality of aerial attacks on Britain. Remember, as early as 1915 England dealt with attacks by aircraft and zeppelins.

It should be a reasonably easy feat to find government documents such as studies, findings and legislative notes related to this organization. Good luck!
