Default Amusing typos...

Well, I've got some news, gents. We've all been very wrong about some of our discussions regarding armored vehicles in WW2. The Jagdtiger being the heaviest fighting vehicle of the war at about 72 tons? Not even close.
Fleischer/Eiermann's "The German Sturmgeshutze in World War II" (Translated, Schiffer, 99) clearly states in a caption to the upper photo on pg. 13:
"The 300HP Maybach engine gave the self propelled mount (Stug III), which weighed 119.6 tons, a maximum speed of 40kph."

Anyone else have any good ones offhand? This one gave me a good chuckle...

I need some of that "Octane" Booster for my ride(s) !

I used to circle & yellow Highlight goofs in my books, but they became too many, too often.

I agree...they are there.

Yup- I'm an editor by trade (well, after a recent promotion, more of a production guy now!), so I tend to notice stuff like that as well.
And in the above noted case, I'm guessing it was a translation issue, albiet one that certainly should have been caught. A 100+ ton StugIII? That can go 40kph??

Yeah, I'd like some of that fuel as well!

I might have noted some in other books that I saved, maybe I can find some.

And of course, there's the often-occurring typos regarding the production #s on Tiger I tanks... right Martin?
