How about this photo for the day! It's Canadian troops liberating Holland!

Re: WWII Photo of the Day
Here's a "Gotcha"
Caption says...
"15th AF P-38. An ammunition truck gets it. The explosion, through which the "Lightning" had to fly, knocked out it's right engine, blew pieces of Nazi uniforms, shell casings and even some empty German cigarette packages into the dazed pilots airscoop."

Re: WWII Photo of the Day
from 8 + 3 +1 +1 (and assorted others) volumes of AAF deeds in WW 2, I'm just now learning how to use my scanner.
What do you want to see a picture of ? I'll see if I can find you one.
Anyone

Re: WWII Photo of the Day
Many have seen Oklahoma in the first one, but how about the other two?
Any wonder why they didn't repair her?
Check out the 13" armor belt damage.
Torpedo hits on frame 25, 35-40, & 115 in quick succession. A list of 45 degrees soon afterwards. Perhaps as many as three additional torpedo hits before she capsized.
the thumbs are better than the increased version? Why, I don't know.
