Default New Member - thought you might be interested in my blog (not spam)

Everyone -

I'm a new member here...and probably won't be posting much. Just setting expectations.

Nevertheless, I'm a writer/artist who was talked into creating a blog to share a small portion of my work while it's being compiled and produced. So, I'm posting this notice on a few well-traveled history blogs.

WWII Fighter Plane Profiles

The artwork isn't much, but the stories may be worth your time...I hope you find it worth your time.

Thank you.

Thanks Wily. It doesn't look like spam to me. Good stories and pics. Let us know when you add more.

(laughs) No...no spam!

Glad you like the blog. I'll try to let forums know when I update, but don't count on me being prompt.

Thank you for the kind endorsement, btw.

Wily

You are too modest..... I wish I could draw half as well !

I also like the ethos behind the Blog and I speak as someone who goes in for Blogs, as in:
Ron Goldstein's Army Album

Do drop in whenever you have a moment and all good wishes for your project.

Welcome, Wily. As an artist and writer in my spare time, I appreciate both aspects of your work! Thank you for sharing. What medium are you using? I've added to my favourites and will watch out for updates.

macrusk -

The medium I used on the P-51s is Marker, Pencil and Photoshop. When I've had access to the pilots, time has often been short - Photoshop has allowed me to reproduce different markings quickly.

When I remarque the prints, I use a pencil of course...but every print has been digitally worked over. With the 352 planes, Photoshop has been invaluable in getting certain shades of blue "right."

Thank you! I just posted Joe Foss's plane today...though I've had the good fortune of spending a bit of time with the guy, I didn't have anything really "new." So, the post is modest.

Next up, however, is another Marine pilot...sometime this weekend or early next week.
