Blacks In The Military.

My dad sent this photo - see thumbnails, to his mother. On the back it said friend Jimmy Wilson, a tap dancer formerly with the Earl Hines Revue, when they were on an island somewhere in the South Pacific. I wonder where Mr. Wilson is now?
I saw it for the first time a few years ago when my aunt sent it to me. Bottom right photo is my mother (left) with a friend. Not sure where it was taken. I have seen websites on this subject and thought this deserves a new thread.

I thought about posting a thread about it too. I don't have any family members that are black, nor did my grandfather talk about any blacks. He was in the South Pacific too, but not sure if it's the same as where your family is from. My grandfather was at that time a novice photograher but took a lot. The pictures look the same (the background) but that might be the same for most South Pacific places. You can read it here.
