Default What was the British 14 B.S.D unit, North Africa WWII?

I have just started researching my family history in WWII - and my first problem is finding out about my fathers unit...

My dad served in the RASC, he worked as a clerk in stores as part of a unit called 14 BSD.

Can anyone tell me what 14 'BSD' stands for? And anything about what it did please?

I believe he served in a place called Mersa Matru

Many thanks - any information greatly appreciated.

B

Beaty,

First of all, welcome to the Forum!

Answer to your question. 14 Base Supply Depot. It supplied a local area.
