Roland-here we go.

U 97 Kptlt Hans-Georg Trox

27 killed 21 rescued. Position of sinking: 33,00 N by 34,00 E.

Hope this helps you and your friend. I can translate stuff here and there but its just hit ans miss. Let me know if this helps you--Carl.

Dear Carl,

I mailed it off to my co-worker a few days after you posted it. Although we work for the same State agency, he is assigned to a seperate geographical area about 100+ miles from me. I will let you any feedback I get from him (he might be in Germany right now - he visits quite frequently)Thanks again!

Dear Roland: Many thanks, I hope he has some good luck in finding what he needs. Also, I have passed what info you gave me to the vets from U 181 and they are also interested. Also, welcome back--missed seeing your postings.
