Are you sitting comfortably? A ‘crypto’ is someone who is, knows they are, but chooses to conceal the fact to further and/or protect their aims and objectives. A ‘closet’ is same but conceals the fact through fear, shame or insecurity.

Well, I am always labaled as a nazi. I haven't shaved my head ever, but still the fact that I used to have a Kriegsmarine original flag on my bedroom's wall didn't help. I also hate that because I am interested in WWII and of course, Germany, they are always saying stupidities like: "Hey, go and masturbate with Hitler!" "Hey! I have some cousins who hate the nazis, I'll introduce them to you, so you can argue" Or even worse, people who give you in your birthday or in Christmas ANY book with a swastika on the cover, may be a futurist science-fiction filthy book, an Holocaust book (I do not like holocaust books) or a modern era fascist-Washington stupid novel... They don't even read the comments on the back! They better should give me some Liddel Hart's books or conventional literature books...

I can't really comment because with my own title. I feel most of you gentlemen have more than a passing interesting WWII which is healthy.

However, it's when we tolerate the holocaust denier's and wanna be racists using this site it becomes a problem. I have to say that despite the various different political backgrounds most folk here the site is are pretty moderate and tolerant. I did notice a post about Obama which clearly wasn't sourced ,that had religious and racist undertones which I for one felt very uncomfortable about. It was removed straight away without a report from me to the mods.

There is a HUGE difference between BEING a Nazi and STUDYING Nazis and or WWII-related subjects. I would never espouse Nazi doctrines or practices. But I do feel that by learning about such subjects we can learn how better to deal with things like that in the future. Those that accuse us history buffs of being Nazis are betraying their ignorance of the subject.

Of course, being accused of being a Nazi opens the door to educating the accuser about what they obviously are ignorant of.

I totally agree, I have a huge interest in WWII and Nazis but I do not agree whatsoever with any of the Nazi ideals. Yet, like so many people here have stated, some buddies of mine and family friends sometimes call me a Nazi. So if someone studies terrorism or Islamic extremism does that make them a terrorist? no way. Yet if someone studies Nazism and they are young like me I'm called a neo-Nazi, go figure.
