Some might have been in England, but some was also filmed in Switzerland--maybe just certain scenes? or wintery type scenes?

Take care.

Hey, can someone describe how the German uniforms look and their range of weaponry? As a collector, im interested in those types of details.

Gosh I hope they arent as bad as the socalled "German" uniforms that were used in the series "The Rat Patrol" even though Hans Gudegasts Afrika Korps uniform looked pretty decent even if they did use real British Battledress uniforms.

I've seen M43 and M41 tunics and some fallschimer stuff too. I'll have to watch the tape again to see extactly what it is. I've also seen a 3.7 antitank gun, plenty of mg42s, mp40s, k98s. I'm watching the new episode tonight and maybe I'll see some new stuff. I'm hoping to see some mp44s in the later episodes.

Unhappy

Carl- Just saw a "behind the scenes" on the making of Band of Brothers, and it was filmed in England for the duration. The snow scenes were made with apparatuses that looked like leaf blowers. The set was actually very hot, but the actors had to look like they were freezing. Anything for the camera, I suppose.
The Fallshirmjager gear looked pretty darn accurate to me. I never realized how much smaller their jump helmets were when compared to the conventional Wehrmacht. They looked like something out of Devo's "whip it" video in the early '80s

Cool

Quick question: In the forth episode which was just aired, we see a formation of planes fly over Easy Company directly after they land in Holland for Market-Garden. I believe they were British Mosquitoes. Can anyone confirm this???

PG, many thanks. I also finally got to see part of one episode, the one just before the Battle of the Bulge. Im buying this series as soon as it is available on DVD.

"Bubi" thanks for the correction. I guess I was wrong from a year ago. See when I was staying with a friend of mine in Rickenbach, Switzerland, there was alot of BoB stuff in their news and he told me that some swon scenes were supposed to be filmed in the mountains not too far from where he lives.

Apparently, he was mistaken and so was I. All I know though, is what they talked about on Swiss T.V. and what my friend translated for me. This is also when I first heard about an American B-17 Fort and a German ME Fighter both being shotdown in Switzerland during ww2. Apparently, the wreckage of both aircraft had just been discovered. They gave a story of the German pilot being killed and the US Crew were inturned for the duration.

I wish I had a tape of those news stories though, because they had mentioned in at least one or two that my friend and I saw, that the winter scenes were to be filmed in Switzerland.

Ultimately though as you kindly pointed out, they werent, and I wonder why not?? Costs, I guess??
