I would like to see who would support this idea? To have a few faces to go with some of the names.
I have to date: signed by 21 different RKTs, photographs in my meagre collection. I do have in addition, about 18 more signed RKT photos (most are of Remy Schrijnen but are all different photos.
The RKTs I have autographed photos of are:
HEER:
Prof Dr. Bodo Spranz
Adolf Baum
LUFTWAFFE:
Adolf Ferdinand Galland w/3 other RKTs one of which is Generalfeldmarshall "Smiling Albert" Kesselring.
Viktor Vitali (actually an art photo)
Martin Drewes
Erich Hartmann
KRIEGSMARINE:
Paul Brasack
Gerd Kelbling
Hans-Gunther Lange
Helmut Witte
Reinhard Hardegen
Erich Topp
Klaus Feldt
Otto Westphalen
WAFFEN SS:
Remy Schrijnen
Hans Hauser
Josef "Sepp" Lainer
Heinrich Springer
Ernst Barkmann
Paul-Albert Kausch
Siegfried Brosow
SIGNED CARD WITH PHOTO:
Karl-Boehm Tettlebach, also has Galland and Tettlebachs younger brother in the photo.
UNSIGNED PHOTOS: includes press photos and original photos-etc.
Klaus Feldt w/Grossadmiral Erich Raeder
Peter Kesgen w/H.J. and Pzfaust training.
?? Heidschmidt (the sniper photo you see on main page)
Werner Molders
Hptm Wick w/Adolf Hitler. Unpublished photo at the Berghoff.
Hermann Fegelein 2photos and 3rd with Heinrich Himmler.
Hugo Sperrle
Erwin Johannes Eugen Rommel
Large photo with Generaloberst Walther von Brauchitsch and Grossadmiral Erich Raeder w/ Hitler and Goering.
Prof Dr Bodo Spranz (color photo)
Joachim Peiper w/Panzervernichtabziechen.
Rudolf Kratzert (thanks to Viktor Vitali)
UNSIGNED BUT ORIGINAL RKT PHOTO:
Heinrich Hoffmeier.
Appx 52 RKT photos.
I would appreciate input of any kind. Also, if anyone else has signed or unsigned RKT photos, would also like to know what you have and maybe share them for this idea for this site.
Thanks--Carl.

Carl ......Do it !
I think a seperate link or page(s)with the RK winners pic and a samll bio with possible book reference(s) to be used to follow up on for further research would be excellent. I don;t believe that the RK site has any need to put up pics, just bios and of course the holders passing away. Too many guys to cover. I could somehow pass on what I have from the Luftwaffe fighter pilots although most of all the gents I have interviewed were the common pilot with 15 or less victories to their credit.
Good show !

That sounds like a good idea. have you thought about selling these photos, with the persons permission of course. And a certain amount from each sale going to a vets group.

Thanks Erich and thanks Bish...
Erich, that sounds like what I was thinking and I will ask Otto about that if he doesnt see this posting. Anything you have will be of great help. I think I can count on "Gunny" for copied of his RKT photos. I think he's written to 50+++ since I gave him a copy of the addresses list. Of course though, of who he has written to, I think appx 8 had already passed away.
(Speaking of which) I just recieved an email from my good friend in Germany from U 181, that our comrade Walter Schmidt, who recently passed away, had a Vikings funeral. I think his was also held at the Uboat Memorial in Moltenort as was Josef Dick and Franz-Josef Hawrans was. All the U 181 men I believe, are wanting to be buried at sea with their ashes near Moltenort and as near the same spot as possible.
The Luft pilots though to us are still accomplished even if they didnt have scores to compare with Erich Hartmann, Heinz Bar or Gunther Rall. My hat is off to your gentlemen.
For Bish:
Thank you for the support too, Bish. I have copies of 16 of them made so far, and will try to scrape the money together to get the rest done in a timely mannor. I ran out of funds for making copies but, I can get probably another 16 done later this week, then do the rest in early November so I dont strain my budget too badly.
Anyone want all kinds of comic books for $1.00 each???????

Carl,
I spotted the post and I'm sold. Just send me a little project overview, and the format we might use to post on each recipient so we can get started!!

OK.
All I can think of is I guess list these guys by branch of service, and I will also try and get more Bio info on who I can. Some of them will be very easy--others-I will have to become a MOLE.
It will take me possible 2 weeks to complete making my copies of what I have (due to lack of necessary funds) I do have about 1 in 4 copied and can make about another 16-20 copies on thursday.
Thanks man

Hey Carl,
I will definitely see what I can do, but you asked for original signed or unsigned photos. Why can't we put photos we only have as scans with the bio's? I mean, I have several scans of portraits but only one original photo of a RK winner.
As for writing bio's: I volunteer for writing bio's of the RK winners from LAH.
Cheers,
Timo

For Bish, Erich, Otto, Timo, and all.
Bish, sorry i forgot to answer the question on do I plan on selling any photos. Nope, I coule never part with them--especially the photos from Remy Schrijnen, Martin Drewes, Reinhard Hardegen, Heinrich Springer, Josef "Sepp" Lainer and Hans-Gunther Lange. These guys for the most part, im either in contact with more often them the others--or very good friends with--especially Remy.
Erich: I hadnt thought of having 7300++ photos, and its never been done--yet I do think its very important to keep the information on these men as update as possible. One RKT who was doing that, just passed away recently, he was Walther Peer Fellgiebel. I do not know if someone elso has picked up the "torch" yet, but I would be more than happy to carry the torch and share it with all of you, and let you carry it too.
Timo: I would be most greatful and happy that if you could do the Bios on the LSSAH RKTs--that would same me alot of work and time--which I could put into what I do have Your idea sounds good to me, lets let Otto know--since hes the man who has to do all the postings for me, but as I am a computer dummy, I wonder if there is a way for others to post? Also, im very interested in seeing your original RKT photo, mine is of Heinrich Hoffmeier--Luftwaffe
Otto: I can pretty much copy alot of info from the RKT site, having it in English of course. Large amounts of text would have to be translated by out European friends when possible. Im all for building our own RKT Archives here.
I can get you fairly accurate Bio info on all Uboat RKTs which include 3 Italian Uboat RKTs. Same goes for most Fallschirmjager RKTs and DAK RKTs. My lists and books are not complete, but pretty close.
Boy, I sure wished I had a copy of Fellgiebels book..................
Also, a man known for his RKT work--Mr. Mark Yearger, is I have heard, in ill health, and I think he is also looking for some individuals to replace his carring the RKT torch--just in case.
Christian of the OdR, has told me about this a few months ago. Christian is also very busy with keeping his updates on these men, but it seems as if the both of us do not have the necessary time lately to do it by ourselves. I would like to tell him though, about you fellow forum members and that WE can help with this.

Carl :
If you would be so kind as to e-mail me privately on info from Martin Drewes that he sent you and the questions you asked of him. On the 12 o'clock discussion board we have been chatting bout the oblique 2cm weapons on the German night fighters. I have some knowledge of this device from at least 4 pilots and would like to ask the same of Martin. I am curious as to what he sent you in the way of pics and copied docs and such. This is of course a hard time to reach the Luftwaffe guys as they are all having their private JG and NJG treffens this time of the year, plus the mail is........well I don't want to go into that.
Otto, Carl, I will help in anyway I can. Send me your requests bitte !
Danke Schön

Hey Erich, guess what? As I and some collectors were looking over my photo collection lastnight, we were looking at two of my press photos showing German soldiers in formation and were being inspected by some Italian Generals and a German Officer. Do you have a clue as to which German Officer he could be???
No??? Well, in both photos, as I was happy to learn lastnight, that GFM "The Desert Fox" himself, was in both these photos as the German Officer who was with the Italian Officer.
Killer iant it? now these two press photos are worth more.....

good ending Carl !
Actually my wife's birthday is Sontag so I thought I would throw the line in which my familie said to me right before we got married.
" A Bride brings good luck " and it's true in my case. My friend, I am away tomorrow so I will be missing all the excellent posts. Will preview tomorrow night.
Tschüß
