I am presently researching the disposition of the US flag which was flying over the US Naval HQ building on the morning of Dec 7. Any ideas on searches would be appreciated. Thanks. Steve

I cant help you on the search for info on that flag but, the place you are from catches my attention greatly.

Westchester, PA. IS this an ex-steel town--or during WW2, didnt they pre-fabricate ship parts there? Reason I ask is, my grandfather was a Captain of a Merchant Marine ship, and for some reason, the name of your city stands out in my rusty memory. I do know that at least one of his crew that had served on the SS Fort Lee, was from there--and he was an Apache Indian--believe it or not.

I'm not sure what the past history is of West Chester. I have only lived here for about 2 years and never thought to inquire.
