As some of you know I work as a battlefield guide, and this week was out with a group that included 11 British Dunkirk and Normandy veterans. Among them were Tankies, an RAMC man who had landed on D Day and an Engineer who had worked on Mulberry Harbour.

I thought I'd mention this as I know many of you have contact with veterans, and will appreciate what a fascinating and rewarding experience it is being with them.

We shall never see their like again...
