JUNE 8TH, 1941
SYRIA British, Austrailian and Free French forces move into Syria to counter a German build up. The Luftwaffe had used bases here to launch attcks into Iraq, but they have now pulled out. A fact unknown to the British at the time.
The British forces incounter light resistance from the Vichy French at this stage of the Campaign. These pro Nazie troops number around 45,000, and are commanded by General Dentz.
Gereral Catroux (Free French Commander) calls on the Vichy French to switch sides, and the British let it be known that they are not in Syria to claim territory.

JUNE 1OTH, 1941
SYRIA:
Austrailian troops North of Tyre begin to make their way across the "litani River"
EAST AFRICA:
The last Sea port held by the Italians is "Assab". It is taken by Indian troops.
near "Addis Ababa" scattered fighting is reported.
p.s. I will try my best to keep up with the news if I can. By the way, everybody feel free to post news also. I am going day by day, starting back in May 1941. So far it's been a little dry, but as Carl says, big things are yet to come....Later
