Hello List,

A friend of mine requested assistance on this question...there were about 300 Japanese residents in Germany during the Second World War...has anyone heard of this? what happened to them? I suppose they were just ordinary citizens living in Germany...did the Germans "disturbed" them?

My apologies but the information supplied to me was as described above...any leads is appreciated.

Thanks

Cool

I'm not sure about the question above, exactly, but on an almost related note....when my Grandpa was in Guam, he went into a cave they had just blown and with a squad of Japanese were 3 German "soldiers". He gave me the insignia that he took off of one of them and it's actually from Org. Todt (sp?), what I believe was their labor corps. Like I said, I know it doesn't answer your question, but I figured you'd find it interesting.

By the way, you have a great web page!!!

Some of the Japanese may have volunteered for military service, some were definiately embassy staff. Some may have been wives of Germans.

But I have no information about them whatsoever, sorry.

Thanks to all who replied,

I must say the incident at Guam was really interesting...it always interest me when such events occur...too bad no or few war films showed such incidents, I am sure it would add a touch of "did you know that might have happened?" to the viewers.

Thanks once again! =-p
