1) At the very top and work your way down to the bottom?
2) In the Middle?
3) At the very bottom and work you way up to the top?
4) Or just on one topic of interest and then go on from there?

I like to start at the bottom and work my way up to the top. It is less crowded that way and, I get to see everything most of the time.

Can't get the vote thingy to work so -
I start at the top, working all the way down to the bottom paying particular attention to headings that interest me....

I actually scan over all the active topics of the day and go from there, so there is no set forum I'll punch up first. Crazy possibly but true.

Erich, are you talking about me
I go for the top two main areas first... those are just the ones I usually post in the most. But after checking them, I usually manage to find intersting stuff in any of the other areas. It really depends on how my workday is going!

Crazy , no but after I thought posting, that it would make you wonder a bit Hey, where did that intersting flash yellow with red checkmark icon come from... ? Nice touch whomever !
As you said Crazy D, it also depends alot on my work schedule but since I am self-employed and September is a down month, I can usally stay around for a nice long visit.

I start with the active topics and go from there, if I have time I will do a more detailed search of other topics.

I start from the very bottom. Responding all the silly things in "free fire zone" first, so I can be in a good modd when posting.

thanks for the replys guys. Im doing this poll as a sort of way to find out what section is often looked at first, and then as a suggestion for Otto, to post photos in the area most traveled to.
We are planning to have about 50 RKT pics up and running (just depends on when Otto can do it as he has just relocated and is very busy) also we will be having many other pics up and running--the pics will be of different subjects--all ww2 related.
Anyway--this poll might help Otto decide the best place for the pics. Once again--thanks for participating in the poll.

Yes, it would be very nice, Carl. And we must help Otto in everything we can as long as he's busy and working.

Thank you Friedrich--this will be a helpful tool for Otto in making that decision im sure.
Now if I had a computer of my own and the "power" to post things--I would---so I could help Otto out a bit on creating stuff for the forums.

Sounds great to me Steve. PS, is the Silver CCC one of your first badges?
Friedrich--your wish is my command--# 10,000 is on its way--just when--only time will tell.

Steve--just remember--this silver ccc is a repo which was made from a cast from an original ccc.
If you want to get into buying German badges--you will have to do alot of research and spend money on referance books. Im still awaiting on an excellent referance work to come in on the Freikorps. Ive probably got 40-50 referance books on German militaria--and im still not really reaching but the tip of the iceberg.
If your in a hurry to get real German stuff without any fears of being cheated--Detlev Niemann, Kai Winkler, Carsten Baldes and Helmut Weitze are the guys to buy from. I have several other sources too but will leave them out as their prices can be a bit higher than the listed gentlemen.

Thanks Carl: Right now I am concentrating on the ribbon bars. I have picked up a few books so far, World War 2 German Medals and Political Awards by Christopher Ailsby, Collectors Guide to the Military Badges, Medals and Decorations of the Third Reich y Shelby Ross, German Military Ribbon Bars by Mark Hayden, Badges and Insignia of the Third Reich by Brian Davis, German Wound Badges by William Hamelman, Auszeichnungen des Deutschen Reiches by Kurt Klietmann, Orden und Ehrenzeichen Deutschland by Detlev Niemann and two books by Robert Lumsden. I also have a book on Third Reich Warrant Discs. I'm not in a hurry to aquire anything since I dont want to get taken.

I collect Ribbon Bars myself.
My best three ribbon bars are:
1) 3 place Imperial German ribbon bar that once belonged to Kaiser Friedrich-Wilhelm von Pruessen.
2) 7 place Imperial German ribbon Bar that once belonged to the Duke of Mecklinburg-Schwerin.
3) and an 11 place Imperial/3rd reich German ribbon bar that belonged to a man who saw active service for at least 40 years. First was in the Imperial German Navy--then later on in the Luftwaffe.
I also have twin ribbon bars--both are 8-place bars--that had belonged to a man who was in the German navy and had served in the Boxer Rebellion in China. His name is not known to me---yet.
One other interesting item I have that was tracable is a mint set of 5th Uhlan Kavallerie Rittmeisters shoulderboards that had belonged to future ww2 Fieldmarshall Ewald von Kleist.
The Rev Hayden book is a good try at a book on Ribbon bars but, he left out way too much stuff.
If you want to read an excellent article on ribbon bars--please go to: www.wehrmacht-awards.com and just click on the ribbon bar icon you will see when you enter the forums. A few of mine are pictured in there--as well as one of mine that turned out to be a repo.
The same person who wrote this one is writing another ribbon bar article which will have more of mine pictured in it.
Also, to find out on my 11 place bar--go to the militaria section on this site and look under the topic titled something like: Knowing a soldier by owning something he did. (Not totally correct title, but you will know which topic it is when you see it.
Ive got a description of the 11 place bar, and what is known of the soldier who it belonged to.

OK Steve--here is where you can find the info on my 11 place ribbon bar.
Its in the "Free Fire Zone" and the topic is: "Things you can learn about a soldier by owning something of his.
Im trying to get a friend of mine to post a picture of it here, but so far--no dice. He hasnt had the time yet.
