Hi Carl and Erich,
Have seen this discussion on das-ritterkreuz and i agree Erich it does seem a bit wacked!
The claim made that Will Fey and Paul Egger are not and never have been RKT's is very outlandish to say the least.I am checking at the moment with my OdR contacts but i have never seen anything before challenging them as RK Winners and i know for a fact that Will was the Director of the OdR for many years and i have recent photos of him at OdR meetings and have his obituary from the OdR in front of me!
I don't know where some of the people on the Das-ritterkreuz forum have got their information, but i'm checking my sources before i post to defend Will Fey,although i'm sure those posts are absolute rubbish.
Paul

Hi Paul, glad to see you here mate.
I agree with you--someone claiming Fey and Egger arent RKTs MUST be out of their minds.
I think ill send an email to Mark Yerger about this. I bet he'll have such a good laugh over this that it'll last all weekend.

Paul, Carl, it really makes you wonder whom gets these things going ? What appeared there also fell over on to the forums at TRF about the 3 highest Panzerfaust/tank killers as well, and of course what it is doing, is changing the precepts of what has already existed / so the problem I see is warping the truth of these guys and their actions in the war.

Totally agree Erich, certainly in the last few weeks of the war verification of and the admin involved in the RK Award process must have been very difficult and confused as the Allies pushed the Germans back and the systems of the Third Reich crumbled, but no one can take away the courage and continued bravery of German soldiers up to the Final Surrender.
Certainly in the case of Will Fey he was fully accepted as a RK Winner,by the only people who really count, his comrades and other Winners of the RK and the OdR,so thats good enough for me.

F :
I find das ritterkreuz seite a little tweaked ! What I mean by that is that the archival forums are very slow to load and some of the info is not updated. I have tried to post several times with no luck and have also found the site to be down due to server problems, but this is par anyway.
A very needed site though. The bio's on what receipients is very meagre.

Their Bios are veri SCHLECHT. When I get time, im going to do a very short bio on all ths senior Waffen SS Commanders. This will include when possible--place and date of birth, whether or not they served in the Freikorps prior to ww1. What Freikorps unit they served in and when possible on what sector. Then ill include dates of KC being awarded and their last unit commands--dates they took commands--causes of death--dates and places of death--providing they are not still among the current living.
There is way too much info to be able to include dates of awards, and a listing of when--where they served--what they commanded etc. This would be a huge book if I even tried to include most of that.

PS, I forgot to add that I have all of them done from about midway on the letter "K" to Zimmermann. Finding info on the others from "A" to early "K", will be time consuming. Im not posting this info untill I get all the rest.

Actually I liked it because of the pictures. Specially those of the field marshall's! The one of Model is certainly one of the best I have seen of him!
BTW, I have made a research project about those 24 men in the German Armed forces with very exclusive shoulderboards. It is powerpoint presentation. Let me know if you want it, so I can send it to you. It has pictures of all the field marshalls, full names and little biographical data, also their branch of service.
And guys, do you know of any site which shows a picture of a Kinght's Cross with Oakleaves and Swords? I have just been able to see the picture of the Oakleaves and Swords without the Cross or the whole thing but with diamonds... Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks a lot, Kai! Good as always!
Carl, I cannot do that. It is a project in PowerPoint with a lot of pics and details. It must be sent as a file by mail. And it is a big file, by the way. (I sent you a little part, remember?)

Friedrich--please send it to Otto--as my email could not handle a big file--and I would have to immediately delete it.

Carl, don't you say you can't download attached files in the library? Beside, I have already send it to Otto. Let's see what the man with the magic fingers can do.

Well, we'll see what Otto can do. But if you have the chance to download it, let me know and I will send it to you. You'll love it!
