After looking over the pics of schwarze 13 Bf 109 I see the following for you both.
Bf 109G-2 Trop, black 13 with a red gruppe bar-horizontal-? or it is black ? werk nummer on tail is 7644.
5./JG 27. Pilot was Uffz. Wolfgang Bierstedt who was killed in this aircraft while taking off from Merduma. The 109 listed as being 100 % written off ! I can only imagine they set this a/c back up on its legs and the pilot must have gone through the canopy or hit his head on the revi or dash, as the a/c looks in pretty good shape.

No problemo Batman, and thats nice of Stevin to get you the book.
that would also be VERY cool to have a few ww2 pilots check us out
So far a I know--we have had at least one Knights Cross Recipient here, as well as one German Cross in Gold Recipient. A German Artillery Commander who served on the Eastern Front, and of course Sapper.
I know we have had other vets here too, including that vet who was in the 8th Airforce over Germany. Hopefully the word will spread and we'll get more of these vets here.

Can you tell the (aprox.) date of the photo, and also did Uffz. Bierstedt have any kills?
Thanks again

David : Glad the info was helpful...
I will have to check, the other two pics owned by a friend usually has the date on the back of the pics. I'll check with him soon on this. As to kills, another research project for me to do so I will get back to you on that as well......
