Hey everybody. I've seen an insignia on some of the troops in ww2 pictures there was a strange looking insignia on their arm patch and helmet and i can't figure out what it means. It's a circle and there's an s shape dividing two colors; blue and white. If anyone could please tell me what it means, i'd greatly appreciate it. thanks.

PS, I think their ww2 nickname was: "The Blue and the Greys" because this Division was made up with men from the North and the South.

ooops--my mistake--MHN is correct--I was mistaking the 69th for them and I think the 69th insignia is red and blue outlined in white? if memory serves me correctly.

Just checked the website MHN posted--he is correct and my memory aint that bad after all.
