Friedrich will become famous soon enough
A question: When did the NSDAP eagle start being used in the right side of the Army and Navy uniforms and on the caps? Since early 1934? Since Hindenburgs death? When? This will help for my WWII drawings... Thanks.

Not sure exactly--I think early 1934 or 1935 or even early 1935. I think 1933 was too early and that was the start of the transitional stages.

Friedrich- The eagle was used
From 1-5-1934 on stahlhelm, "visor cap, dress and field tunic.
From 30-10-1935 it was also used on field caps and 'schwarze schutzmütze' (I don't know the english word).
From 11-11-1935 it was also used on the black field jacket and sport tunic.
From 11-2-1936 it was also used on the mountain cap.

Thank you very much, Volkbert!
So, if I am going to draw a picture in which there are some Heer officers meeting on late January 1934 they should not have any nazi eagle on their uniforms, right?

You are right. I got the info out of the book 'Die Deutche Wehrmacht, uniformierung und Ausrüstung 1933-1945; BAnd 1 Das Heer' from Schlicht and Angolia.

Will you show us some of your drawings in the future?
