Mahross - If you're visiting Ouistreham, could you see if a 60 foot white square tower is still there in the sector close to the river estuary/coast.
Also (big also), can you try and pick-up a schedule of events in/around Ouistreham planned for June 2004? Would be greatly appreciated!
Have a good time.

Well its been a long few days but superb!!! Yes the 52ft high bunker in Quistrhem is still there and I have pics... Lots of pics in fact!!!
I am afraid you will have to wait a few days as they are all black and white but they should be good!
We have pics of Mont Pincon, Mont Ormel, Pegasus Bridge ( I have stood on the real one!), Hill 112, Sword and Juno, Mulberry harbour, Villers Bocage, Corridor of Death, Bull Bridge and Museums and Cemetries!!!
The Pegasus Bridge museum is building a Horsa glider for the 60 anniversary!!!
Got pics of Shermans, Hetzer, Jeeps, Churchills nand just general countryside stuff! I will try to post as many as possible.
Anyway gonna go to bed now as I have just got back and am very tired but very very very very happy!!!!

Cant wait til I can see your pics--sounds like you had a great trip! Maybe someday ill see if somebody can post some of my pics from Germany here--includes current German Gebirgejagers, the U 181 vet reunion, meeting with Remy Schrijnen at his home ((SS Sturmbrigade Langemarcks only RKT)) pics of castles--unless you guys are all castled out--pics of three uboats in and outside and pice taken through their periscopes (if they come out)) pics of masted ships and a former East German warship and still even fewer pics of ww2 damaged buildings. Also pics of the Uboat Memorial in Moltenort and pics of Horst Bredows Uboat Archiv in Altenbruch. If anyone is interested that is.

Trip was excellent. If you ever do one battlefield normandy should be the one. The walk up hill 112 is deceptively long. everytime you reach a crest it is false and there is another one to go. I will post my pics as soon as they are developed, i've got 3 rolls. Just a question how do i post pics?

I'm afraid you can't unless you link it from another forum. Another way may be to send Otto the pictures.

basically...
You need (a) server(space). Maybe your ISP/uni has space for a website (which is connected to the internet)that you can use to store the pics on. Or if you host your own site/server. Store the JPGs there and link from here to there (see FAQ of this site on how to do that...it is easy).
Do I make any sense?
In any case, sending the jpg's to Otto is by far the easiest option. If that proves to be a problem, I could host them for you...

I presume you mean this bunker - the Ouistrehem fire control bunker - which is now a museum:

Glad you all had a good trip - we look forward to hearing more about it and seeing some of the photos.
I am back in Normandy myself in a couple of weeks, with the BBC, in preparation for a documentary (one of many which will be screened in 2004).

Sommecourt--can you elaborate more on the BBC Documentary?
We get some stuff on PBS that was done by the BBC.

Posting pics? Wouldnt it be possible just to set up a Yahoo or Msn site if youve got lots and then link the url to it here?
Alternately, I suppose we as a group could set one up for all pics we want show?
