This is deeply tragic news - it has also appeared on the UK 'Avi8' forum.
As always, deepest sympathy to the relatives and friends of all those involved and also to the team who work on the aircraft.
( I guess this must the CAF's CASA 2-111, a Merlin-engined variant ... )

Doc -
Do they know whether or not it was an original He-111 of German wartime vintage, or was it one of the CASA contracted versions out of Spain?
I am sorry to hear that there was loss of life. Anytime this occurs, yes, the loss of historical aspect is tragic, but the cost in human life to me, seems obviously more severe.

Thank you for posting the information Doc ! I have a number of pictures of that aircraft taken when they were in Harlingen Texas. It is a Spanish CASA. It just adds to the terrible safety record that the Confederate Air Force has. I have pictures of the A-20, B-26,Curtiss Helldiver,Twin Mustang, and P-38, all of which they wrecked over the years due to stupid mistakes and poor maintance.
