60 years ago today was the last-but-one 'Geburtstag des Fuhrers'..... I wonder what presents he got ?
I must confess to a small collection of 'GdF' first-day stamp covers which can be obtained very cheaply in Germany - I think everyone had to send one to their friends.....or else !

Happy CXV anniversary, Adolf! Hope you're burning in hell...
Martin, my grandpa has a couple of those stamps! (And his diaries are quite interesting about this).
"April 20th 1939.
Today's the Führer's L birthday. We're all very happy. It's definately a great day to celebrate for Germany and its youth".

I would guess that the anniversary was greeted less enthusiastically as the war dragged on.....

Hitlers birthday?
One of the things that made me chuckle is the sense of humour of an old Veteran friend of mine. Everytime he goes to the toilet, he says he is "going to send a telegram to Hitler"
Not funny. no, perhaps not, but bloody satisfying.

That's a very good one, Sapper. It made me laugh for a while.
However, I still get mad when I heard some ingnorant teenager phraising Hitler —as I did myself some years ago...—
