Gents,
I just got this news through the email ring of a WW2 Bomb Group and thought I'd pass this on. If so inclined, please say a prayer for Robert Morgan, pilot of the Memphis Belle.
"I thought I would post this message to allow everyone the opportunity to lift up Robert Morgan and his family in prayer. Robert Morgan was the pilot of the Memphis Belle and last week he had an accident. He and his wife were coming home from a trip and he had left her at the baggage claim to go get the car. When he reached the outside he unfortunately tripped on the curb and broke his neck. He is now in intensive care and is not expected to make it. The broken neck has
been fixed in surgery and is healing well but, prior to this something had rendered his immune system almost useless and it is his immune
system that is making the battle a losing one. I am sure that he and his family would welcome any prayers that you lift up today and in the
following weeks."

I just heard about this this morning--that he had passed away. But, I had not heard of what cause.
A man who went through what he did, to have this happen to him. It sure is so sad.
Rest In Peace.

I agree. This man deserves respect and to die that way but it's God's timing, not ours. It was just his time to go. RIP

Like Patton said " not a soldier´s death" but he did have a long and hopefully a full life.

Re: Robert Morgan, Pilot of Memphis Belle had accident
I met him at the WWII Weekend in Reading. He was a very nice guy, I talked with him a lot and even exchanged emails. He used to get us signatures for free (his wife didn't like that though). May he rest in peace.

Re: Robert Morgan, Pilot of Memphis Belle had accident
It can seem 'useless' when our heroes die from 'silly' accidents after surviving so much in the war, and the rest of their lives. But, as I am coming to grips with my dad's recent passing I am appreciating that we have absolutly no say in when or how our loved ones and heroes leave this life so, from my heart I say, "Rest in peace with your brothers in arms and thank you for keeping the homefront safe and free."

Right--it does seem like it was only yesterday. The same feeling goes with when I learned that Medal of Honor Recipient: Lucian Adams; had passed away. I knew he was a Texan but had not known that he was a resident of San Antonio-until I heard over the radio that he had passed away. I would have loved to have visited him.
