A P-51C crashed in St Paul, MN. There are only two P-51Cs left in the world. One is still flyable out of Flordia, one is being restored in Chino to be sent back to the UK, one is on display at the Smithsonian, and the other crashed. It killed the pilot.

This is truly tragic news.

I hate to introduce a note of criticism at such a time, but the CAF's record of lost aircraft recently is very worrying indeed.

Yes, I agree. In the last two years they lost a f 4 Wildcat and a HE-111, now this.

I have to agree with you Martin, the saftey record of the CAF over it's history is miserable and they should be looked at very closely by the Federal agencys to see it they can clean up their act.

Yes definatly. Do any of you get the magazine, Air Classics? Because there is an artical in the new addition about the CAF's Wildcat that crashed. It says that it wasn't damaged very much and is fixable.
