Most of these were formed into the Hanschar Division and were known to be involved in the Holocause in Yugoslkavia. Check out this link:

Bit unsure of that article as it sites crimes in 1941 for a unit that was not formed till 43.

"encouraged Muslims to join Nazi units that would be later implicated in genocide and crimes against humanity - the infamous Hanjar (or Handschar) 13th Waffen SS division. One of these crimes was the The Massacre at Koritska Jama Gorge, in Bosnia during 1941."


Handschar was formed in July 1943, trained in Southern France, and posted to Croatia December 43 and january 44.

Im not saying they didnt commit atrocities just merely pointing out the above. It is possible that the massacre could have been committed by Moslems in Wehrmacht service as they joined from 41 but in very small numbers, I will have to look into it more...

Also some moslems also saw service in 'Prinz Eugen', the quickly disbanded 'Kama' Division and 'Skanderberg'.
