Erich, this may interest you. Gunther Rall,(85 yrs old ), gives a great interview. Punch in www.virtualpilots.fi/feature/photoreports/guntherrall/2003/ He mentioned he didn't like the 109 slats too much & would've preferred a bigger wing instead. Favorite 109 was F-4. As for U.S. planes, he said he didn't worry too much about 47 & 38, but Mustang was good. Hope you haven't already seen this. You can also punch virtualpiolts in a search engine.
