i'm hoping someone out there can help..............
i have some photos of my grandad during 1943 in egypt and jerusalam. i know nothing about what regiment he was in or anything else for that matter.
is it possible to tell anything about his regiment by looking at his uniform??
if so how do i go about finding someone to do this??
also i'd like to post some of the photos on a site to see if i can find the families of the other soldiers on the photos, their names written on the back of some of the pictures which hopefully will help
hope someone can help
thanks lisa

Hi there and welcome to the forum!
Looks like an interesting case, gotta say you would be surprised what you can find out by looking at his uniform. If you can show us photographs we might be able to let you know his regiment, possibly divsion and so on. From there you might be able to get hold of some information from the public records office.
So yeah, please feel free to post the photographs and we shall see what we can do.
Good luck with the rest of your search,
Stefan

Welcome to the forums Lisa! I hope you enjoy your stay.
The site I use to host images is ImageShack. It is fairly easy to use and it is completely free.
