Ahhhh...politics !
For non-UK residents, a word of explanation : we have a General Election here in 2 days which will almost certainly see 'New Labour' re-elected despite T Blair being the most despised PM since..well, the last one !
Yesterday, Tory co-chairman Lord Saatchi introduced leader Michael Howard at a rally of supporters by likening the current election campaign to El Alamein.
Paraphrasing Monty, his Lordship said : 'The great point to remember is that we are going to finish Blair once and for all. It will be quite easy. There is no doubt about that. This chap Blair is definitely a nuisance. Therefore we will hit him with a crack and finish him'.
What will they think of next ? From Blair summoning the image of the USA 'standing shoulder to shoulder with Britain during the Blitz' to this, isn't it great how 21st Century politicians are so ready with their WWII history.....
Politics !

This campaign has been more interesting than the last two walkovers but you're right - the Government always gets in .....

If I may ask, gentlemen, which party are you voting for?
Think I'd vote for the Liberal Democrats if I lived there… since MacDonald's old left party is nowadays as leftie as the Republican party…

How silly a comparisson! It's OK that Rommel is overrated, but lowering him to a Blair-like point?

Gentlemen should never discuss their politics in public !
If I say I live in an area where the Conservative candidate has no hope at all , then you may get the drift..... ( notwithstanding Monty or Rommel ! )

I voted in a marginal, one of the few thousand people that actually decide on the election....vote proportional representation..wote it now...or vote for the apathy party...they never get in, they are too busy down the pub...
Fried...I am labour, a socialist at heart, varying countries have different interpretations of what a socialist is...trust me he aint the enemy unless you live in a country has an U in.
Lots there then.
So being labour all my life, living in a marginal labour constituency, with no chance of Liberals winning, and having no faith in Conservatives since she who must be obeyed..Against the war in Iraq, ex serviceman, war pensioner, lots of mates still in services, voted for the only natural party....I could...errr......Conservative....to get the Labour guy out...daft or what...why cant I vote for who I want to in this country...As Martin says though....we dont do politics...but I did actually serve as a teller in Sedgefield Tony Blairs constituancy for Reg Keys who lost his son in MP massacre in Iraq.
Vote apathy....you know it makes sense....

Well, it's five - four ? - more years of Tony - Gordon ? - now anyway.
I found the election slightly more interesting than usual and was encouraged that, feeble though our democracy may be, politicians were finally taken to task for ill-judged decisions.
