Okay, I would have to say that would have to be THE COOLEST thing that I could think of happening to me.(Unless I could have one of those episodes described in Penthouse) To be walking around and stumble accross something like this would be like finding a Roman coin while walking along the Apian Way for a Roman history buff. I cannot even imagine the way the disbelief and thrills must have kept coming as he delved into the complex. It really is amazing that it was not looted by the local population during or after the war, due to the hardships that the war caused and the desire to get something back from the Germans. That story of how it remained untouched would be a tale worth telling in it's own right.

What a thrill it must be to explore such a find, but not without some anxiety! My anticipation would be tempered with the concern that I might discover a "forgotten" S-mine. (Insert Boom here)!

The BBC TV news carried a special report about the Maisy Battery this evening. It's undoubtedly an important 'find' and looks to be a most worthy addition to Normandy's WWII sites of interest.
