one of the outstanding leaders as a German night fighter pilot passed away last night close to his 90th birthday. Martin had been sick over the years and was slowly fading. Noted for his success's in the spring of 1945 with multiple kills, the March 14/15, 1945 with the operation over Nürnberg being the highlight with 6 kills to his credit with his forward firing 2cm weapons he ran out of ammo and his Bordfünker Karl-Johanssen operating the Ju 88G-6 Naxos took over with the MG 131 and shot down 2 further Lancasters and 1 100th group B-17 to make the crew 9 victories for the evening mission.
Martin Becker had 58 victories and after this mentioned mission K-J. was awarded the Ritterkreuz [img]graemlins/rk.gif[/img]
