There was no honour in any war with Japan, they fought a particularly brutal & cruel war and most Aussie (and I assume Brit, Indian, American etc) soldier who fought in the Pacific detested them.

60plus years later we can afford to be less hateful, but dont think that their actions have been forgotten.

Point taken but the actions taken are honorable regardless of deep felt feelings. I agree during the war there was no honour shown but afterwards, there have been instances of healing. Great find nevertheless.
