TA152 posted a link to one of the articles on this site, I found the main page and figure it's worth posting in its own right. It's an interesting site and gratifying to see:

That's so awesome because every time I ask young people if they know about this or that they really don't. I'm 21 and think it's such a shame that these heroes don't get thanked for what they did.

i posted a while ago moaning about the youth and their impressions of wwII. I was sent an excellent link by a British teacher via pm and managed to delete it without thanking the sender. So I thank you now, whoever you may be!

Its stil the same, I do question the younger generations and their views of wwII, but seeing sites like the one here and the one posted to me via pm do make me believe that there is an interest.

Ive always said that one day, very soon, there will be a time where there are no vets/survivors left, and it will be down to young academics to make the memories of the millions affected stay alive, long may the good work of this forum and others like it continue!!!!

Agreed, the kids may make mistakes, their writing style may not be amazing and they may only be able to give a narrow view, but at least they have done it. They remind the world that these people lived when many of their friends died, that they fought where many fell.

Stefan, an excellent find. I have never given up on our own youth in the UK, many I come into contact have an interest, but I suppose the USA kids could teach ours a lesson on rememberance after all. But that has to be down to us adults rather than the kids themselves.
