Israeli police say they have broken up a gang of neo-Nazis who are accused of carrying out attacks on foreigners, gay people and religious Jews.
The eight suspects, aged 16-21, are all Israeli citizens from the former Soviet Union. They were arrested a month ago, but the news only emerged on Saturday.

"It is difficult to believe that Nazi ideology sympathisers can exist in Israel, but it is a fact," Revital Almog, the police official who led the investigation, told Israeli public radio.

I read that news article too. Kinda ironic, dont you think? Soviet Jews as neo-Nazis. Its hard not to get a little humor out of that...and its also not surprising that they're teenage/early 20's....one wonders where their parents are?

Israeli society is not monolithic, it's not all made up of observant Rabbis, by no means. This looks a lot more like sons of Russian immigrants, devoid of any cultural references, who seem to have brought along some neonazi tastes. See these pretty boys (there are more!).
