Re: Italian human torpedo enters National Maritime Museum
That's better, when it said 'story not available' I was about to write a news-flash, 'Gordan makes uninformative post, is this the end of civilisation?'
Interesting stuff though, looks like a really nice model, will have to visit some time.

Re: Italian human torpedo enters National Maritime Museum
I must say that I was unaware of the Italians possessing these.

Re: Italian human torpedo enters National Maritime Museum
There was a video playing alongside one on display at the 'Explosion' museum in Gosport.
Italian chap talking, who had used one to sink a ship with most all of it's company being killed. He was still quite obviously badly haunted by what he, personally, had done... strong stuff.
Wonder if this replica is what I saw, now moved to Greenwich? as 'Explosion' seemed unlikely to survive for long to my eye.
Mind you, I reckon the NMM is pretty weak generally, what a wasted collection, hopefully this is a sign of some improvement activity going on.
Cheers,
Adam.
