That's interesting, and about time too.

There was a very good BBC docu-drama about this incident several years ago - it was scary to watch. I believe that the 'air raid' turned out to be a false alarm....

Thanks for sharing this Gordon. I can't imagine what it felt like to be a mother who had tried to protect her child only to have it be killed or "suddenly missing". Rather like the sinking of the "City of Benares" when parents evacuated their children to Canada for safe-keeping.
