Thanks Gordon, a very moving story. Amazing that he is wearing his uniform. I have a thought for the victims of the bombings from Bath and from any other city and my respect goes to those who have the courage to face a crowd for such a public apology

a little curious as to why now ......... ? well good on him I guess, shame he has carried the guilt all these years, but he is not the only German soldier to do so

A man with courage I must say. After and in the war. Wondering if he'll be wearing his uniform in Bath. It's like you said Skipper amazing he's wearing it. I met some German veterans shortly in a German meeting once and where I always see British veterans with uniform I never saw A German veteran with one on.

well here is a thought.......it is for a posed foto-shoot.

guys every luftwaffe pilot vet i have interviewed mentioned they would not be caught dead in front of a camara wearing the old uniform as well as some of the herr veterans as well including two very close friends ............. what's the point, the war is over and we lost, who cares have been the replies

It would take us forever discussing the ethics of this, and whether others should do the same or not. I doubt we would reach any conclussion, see the Dresden threads, for instance. But I salute this brave man who searched his soul.
