World War II Buzz Bomb Memorial, Greencastle, Indiana
(the text on this site is really quite humorous... i.e.
...One of only two WW II German Buzz Bombs —forerunner of the Japanese kamikaze...
and...
...The bomber came into the Navy's possession during the war...
I can only think the 'kamikaze' comment was referring to the Japanese
Yokosuka MXY-7 Ohka (which was rocket powered, while the unmanned V-1's powerplant was a pulse-jet) The V-1 would more likely be classified as the forerunner to the cruise missle.
.... and it wasn't a 'bomber'..... it was a bomb!
I just thought it was interesting that an American city would put it a German buzz-bomb on a plinth, paint it weird and call it a war memorial.

NOTE: The Wiki aarticle had this picture of a two-seat Okha trainer...note the landing skids on the belly and the wings...
... never seen one of THOSE before....
(... bet they didn't spend a whole lot of class time on 'Landing Procedures'!...)
