Falaise farmyard relic....
Very tempting-looking, this.....sadly, it wouldn't fit in the back of my car, so it's still there ! Although, judging from postings on the 'Poche de Falaise' forum, others have got an eye on it, too.....
The guy on the 'Falaise' forum wondered if the mudguards were from BW43 motorcycle side-car but this looks unlikely from photos. Someone else suggested a wheeled 2cm FLAK carriage.....? Maybe.
Whatever, it's nice to see a relic such as this, still in situ on the battlefield (note the genuine Normandy apple orchard in the background ).......

Re: Falaise farmyard relic....
It looks as though it could be the wheel section of the 88mm, is that possible?
actually never mind I just realised there are only 2 wheels as compared to the 88mm's 4, 2 on eash side

Martin, there is always the possibility that you could have towed it behind your car...

Re: Falaise farmyard relic....
The tyres look pretty new to me, I wouldn't be surprised that the farmer used it after the war and dumped it a few years ago only. I'm surprised it's still there. Size must have stopped more than one.

Yup... Looks like a 20mm carriage minus the carrying frame.

Well...
I have considered robbing a certain garden in Villers-Bocage of their 'peculiar' flower-pots...

Any chance the farmer might know what it is?

Of course they do Bigfun. They don't consider it as being valuable, but they nevertheless want to keep it. I saw people use Lancaster door hinges for a chicken cage fence and a Me 109 canopy as a mini green house , they just think it is junk, but when you ask them for it even to buy them for a good price they"ll keep it.

Re: Falaise farmyard relic....
I remember walking through the Sunday morning street market in St Omer and there were a couple of guys with stuff literally just picked off a battlefield; rifles/mgs rotted down to the metalwork, helmets, shells.....

May I ask what year this was?
Or is this more common than I think?

Yeah, that figures! I was just hoping he didn't know, and would let someone have it, or have it cheaply anyway!
Those days are gone now aren't they! You can't find a hot rod car in a farmers barn and buy for $200 bucks anymore! Too bad, this piece of history will disappear, to be used in some ridiculous manner!

Re: Falaise farmyard relic....
You can still find these everywhere, see the militaria threads, there are relics posted from France, Germany, Belgium, Holland. I have found a parts of sharpnel the other day just by stopped at the side of the road for a break, it was just there waiting for me. By checking further I found out it was the relic of a U.S. bombing of June11th 1944.
