Happy 63rd V.E. DAY!
Today May 8th 2008 is the 63rd anniversary of the end of the war in Europe. Many nations have adopted this day as a rememberance day. Throughout Europe there will be thousands of small and big Ceremonies to pay a tribute to the fallen and to honor those Veterans who are still among us.
I will go to my local cemetey and will meet veterans. When you drive by a WWII monument don't forget to have a thought for those who allowed us to live in a free world . To them I say "thank you".

I just went to the local Commonwealth graves and saw some fresh flowers there. Same thing for our local monument. I saw a villager who said the town officials would lay a wreath around noon, so I'll go back then and see who shows up.

Very happy VE day to all, especially those who made it happen.

Re: Happy 63rd V.E. DAY!
Gosh I MISSED MY LOCAL CEREMONY. I went at 10am, 1145am and in the afternoon only to find out that it was at 11am.... the good thing is that when I went at 11.45, I could take the pictures I wanted....

Happy VE day, and a huge Thanks to all those who fought for the freedoms we enjoy today
