It is sad to see someone die so near the end of the war.
Many people don't realize the large numbers that died in flight training only.

how true, i was looking on a dehavilland research site the other day that listed all the mossies and there were a large number that met with their demise during training flights...... Charterhall airfield in the scottish borders seemed to be a popular place for crashes.... no wonder it was nicknamed 'slaughterhall'!

Interesting link, Gordon - thanks for posting it. I well remember the flurry of interest in the National press when the wreck was discovered.

Another reminder that the Mosquito could be a very tricky beast to fly.....
