"Wilhelmshaven - A World-War-II bomb exploded after being unearthed in a in the north German port city of Wilhelmshaven, police said Sunday.
None of the three builders present were injured in the explosion, which happened during the night from Friday to Saturday.
The bomb went off when it was sucked up by specialist machinery used to excavate the port, causing an estimated 100,000 euros (147,000 dollars) of damage.
'It was just a question of time before something like this would happen. We can just be happy that nobody was hurt,' a police spokesman said.
From time to time, the tide washes unexploded World-War-II bombs into the city's port. In August, a 250-kilogramme bomb was discovered and detonated in a controlled explosion."
