Howdy folks, it’s been a while since I dropped by. Life is very busy. But, after working on this stupid painting off and on for 3 years, I wanted to show you the U.S.S. New Mexico at the “Battle of Pips”.

Both my grandfathers served in the Aleutians and one went in with the invasion of Kiska (both U.S. Army). Also, when I attended the University of New Mexico years ago, I would pass by the New Mexico’s bell that was on display while walking to class. I even...
Pretty interesting piece. It’s a portrait of a U.S. Serviceman. Painted at the bottom reads “Hicks- England 1943”. It’s on paper and seems to be glued onto card stock. I’ve read that it was common for Servicemen to have these made by artists while in England, often to have sent back to family.
Howdy Folks,

I asked for permission before I posted this (since it is dealing with a WWI subject). I wanted to share my new painting of the Lusitania wreck.

I read a book about her sinking this spring that inspired me to paint this. This is more or less her condition back in the 1990s when explorer Bob Ballard visited the wreck.

Since then she seems to have deteriorated even more so and continues to collapse in on herself.
I was always fascinated (and...
