RIGHTO and, as Detlev makes money hand-over-fist--I think maybe an idea for Otto is to contact him and see if he will help sponsor this site and have his banner here as well.

Same goes for Carsten Baldes, Helmut Weitze, Peter von Lucaks, maybe Janet at Blackcrossmilitaria. This way--it helps Otto "Pay-the-bills" and this way--we might get to have a permanent image gallery and other things here.

Im HOPING our C-i-C will see this and think about it. Why let ell the other sites have all the Sponsors? :D

Carl, you are right. The dealers you mentioned have good customers among these forum members. I spent hundreds of euros at the sites of these guys. And I am only a little collector.

Thanks Volkbert and--as ive seen pics of your collection--it aint that little. It is of high quality--which is what counts.

I started out with one badge--a Kriegsmarine Destroyer badge that I inherited from my Opa--my first purchase badge was a German ww2 Black Wound Badge from Blackcrossmilitaria--for the then and now almost high sum of $25.00. :D

UH OH!! The CATS out of the bag now!!! I didnt want to admit it but, I guess i'll have to come clean. Secretly I have been manufacturing all-kinds of awards for many many years and re-selling them on the market.

I Still have many many bins full of repo awards for sale---but only repo Kusten Artillerie Abziechens are available at the moment. :D

Sponsors spend money....but they want some things in return. That is bottom line here folks. It is a slippery slope, a tight rope, a balancing act that some site administrators do not want to fall prey to. I would suggest donations or a raffle for a money maker. I would contribute on both ends. The free statis of a site is priceless. Sponsors want some say, it's only right if they are spending money. However, a site that it is free from any domination is truly an example of free speech. If we must have a sponsor I would pursue publishers before retail sales of military pieces. A book is a book, agree or disagree, it is after all a written opinion. A medal or badge is another thing that causes MANY to agree as well as DISAGREE to it being a real piece. I think I'd choose to be electric and go for the path of least resistance. This is just my opinion. ;) [IMG]

Mott, you hit the nail square on the head! Currently the costs are quite manageable and I'm not quite ready to give up my autonomy,...yet.
