I will add some color too in the coming days. Last weekend I bought some dutch nazi stuff. A pin for the NAD (dutch labour association), a medal and whistle from the Jeugdstorm (dutch nazi movement) and some paperwork from Jeugdstorm and NSB (dutch nazi party). I will make pictures and post them within a few days.

Btw I saw a great feldbluse for an infantery officer at Weitze. On it were a black wound badge and a silver IAB. I asked for some more pictures and why Weitze called it condition 2-. The reply I got was that it was sold!

But tomorrow some new sites are updating!!!

Thats cool--I cant wait to see your new additions. :D Also--im about to buy a 1939 bar to the EK2 from Weitze. Not as rare as the bar to the 1870--which has 1914 in it--but still its not an everyday piece either. Now if I only had a 1957 EK2 to put it on. :D

These bars are heavily faked. Someone told me because they are relatively easy to make. But I guess you checked wehrmacht forums for it and Weitze is also a reliable source.

Hi Volkbert--no problem there--the bar im getting is to the 1939 EK2--they only go for about $30.00. Now the 1914 bars are a different story, as well as the bars for the 1870 EK2. An original 1870 ek2 bar is now nearing $1,000. I also have one to a 1914 ek2--which is the one on my Artillerie Majors tunic--but the bar in question is one for the 1939ek2--for someone who got the ek2 twice in ww2 and the bar is for the 1957 ek2.

Im getting this from Weitze--and Kay Bruggemann sent me an email this morning and said he had several 1939 bars. If interested in a cheaper but neat piece of militaria--get one from Kay.

Me too. And thank you David for posting a pic of them here. Chas emailed me and said I will have them sometime next week.

I like these because of the matching Ribbon Bow that came with it. I dont collect ribbon bows (gave all the ones I had--away to friends a few years ago) but--I had to have this bar--which might be researchable.

Again David--thank you for posting that pic here for us.

Monsieur Evans, quick question, what does RO stand for on the back of an IAC? I got a bronze one at a re-enactment yesterday (repro of course) but was wondering what the RO stood for if it was found on originals. Thanks for any help.

Hi Stefan. If RO were found on an original--it would be the makers mark for the badge.

In fact--in the General ww2 forum at the top here--I posted several threads on makers markings and appx values of German awards. If interested--take a look and let me know what you think :D

Luckily it helped solve a mystery for Martin--on his 1939 Iron Cross 2nd class. His was maker marked--on the ribbon ring--and he looked up the code in one of the postings I made and found out who made his Iron Cross. His was maker-marked 55 for J.E.Hammer und Sohn.

I myself have around 10 Iron Crosses--but only a few have makers markings--like my L/19 made Iron Cross 1st class. It was made by: Ferdinand Hoffstatter, Bonn.

    Hope this helps. :D

Garry that medal is very beuatiful! Make me feel jealous ;) I went immediately to Weitze to make me feel better and bought a NSDAP membership card. Coming thursday I go to a friend to look after his kids. He has a good scanner. I will make some scans of my latest stuff and post it here.

Looking forward to seeing it. Also--I won today on ebay--a 4 place ww1 ribbon bar--ill give details on what awards it has later. It has a double award of somekind--and I have to go do some research on it to find out what that award is.

Ok, here is the identification info on the picture of my ribbon bar and ribbon bow--that David kindly posted for me.

    From Left-to-Right:
1914 ek2/ Baden Order of the Zahringer Lion Knight 2nd class with swords/ Hamburg Hanseatic Cross/ Prussian Red Cross Medal 3rd Class.

My friend Rick says most likely he was a Medical Officer--but this actully can be someone else.

The Ribbon Bar is a ww1 wartime piece--the ribbon bow coming with it is a vet purchase piece--post ww1. And added to it is a War Merit Cross. 4 Place bar--5 place Ribbon bow.

I promised to post some pic's of my latest treasures. Yesterday I made the scan at my friend's house. He still looks strange at me coming with all my medals to his house :D

First one a medal of the Jeugdstorm (ns youth movement in holland). I don't know yet what this medal is exactly for.
