    Hello Everyone,
Sorry for the long delay in returning, but my plate has been full with that stuff we call life.
Anyway, Greg and I recently attended the Houston Gun and Military Show last weekend. We manned the Wehrmacht Awards Association Table trying to inform other medal collectors of the site. Here is a picture or two or . . . of our weekend. We hope you like it.
Greg and I at the hotel after a 4 hour drive and setting up the table and feeding the kids. I took one of my sons and Greg brought two of his. Ages 8,9,10. We were tired the first night. Whew!

We were playing show and tell with a few of the guys later on so we set out a few things. Here is Greg at the table in our suite.

The show had alot to offer every military buff regardless of the period or theatre. Here is a row of US period vehicles. Two were found in Europe and brought back and fully restored. They had all the correct accessories and markings, The dueces were equally impressive. One was a standard troop carrier another was a communications station for commanders.

Here are some German reinactors with authentic period pieces. These guys had several bikes with sidecars, machine guns, and uniforms.

Here are some of the goodies we found and retrived for our collections of the past. this belongs to a friend in Houston. It's SILVER on a marble pedistal. It's an officials desk eagle. If it could only talk.

Thank you for posting these pictures Gary. I think Volkbert, Ryan and others will get a big kick out of them as I did.

Our kids are becoming collectors of medals and awards as well. My son picked up a Purple Heart, Silver Star, and an Antartica Service medals. Greg's son found an Iron Cross 1914 a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart as well. It sure beats rap music CD's. :D [IMG]

Great pictures guys!! Man wish I was there too. What a creepy bunch of wehrmacht soldiers with very big medals :D :D :D Wow the guy at the right wears a DKiG. I love this medal. But it's worth my yearly budget.

Turning your kids into medal collectors is a good thing, you can't start early enough with it! I have no kids but when I have I start with giving them items of Deutsches Jungvolk.

And if your interested--the first pic--the one with the Battle Flag--all the medals and the pistols. The Walther P-38 is mine :D and its a beaut. [IMG]

PS--the "officer" shouldnt be wearing a 1914 EK2 ribbon bar--it should be a ribbon in the 2nd buttonhole in his tunic. Also--it is mistakenly worn with the Silver Close Combat Clasp. Other than that--pretty good uniform.

Carl- why should he wear the EK2 decoration through the buttonhole? Because of the silver CCC?

I think the guy also has a panzervernichtungsstreife on his right arm.

Hi Volkbert, he should have his EK2 ribbon in the buttonhole as the ribbon bar doesnt belong under the CCC, or on the tunic for that matter because of the CCC and in order for him to have the DKiG--he HAD to earn the EK2 and EK1 first--though he isnt wearing his EK1. :D

Hello Volkbert--I have just been proven wrong on the ribbon bar. I was going through a nice site by Paal Wayland--and there are a few fotos of RKTs wearing a ribbon bar under their CCC--or at least in one case I saw before coming here to post this--sorry for my error my friend.

I guess his didnt register as being correctly worn because of only as a single?!? But i saw a nice color pic of a General wearing a ribbon bar under his CCC--so that alone has proven me incorrect.

Greg has yours...remember? I have the medals that belong to you, Greg has the guns and uniforms. We don't take them out of the safe. We only transport our stuff, your stuff stays locked up. One other thing, P-38's look alike.

Glad to see that there is a mag in and that your finger is on the trigger while pulling back the bolt.
