    Greetings all -

I decided to place this in the militaria section as this pertains to some shots of my Luftwaffe and small panzer collection of German WW II militaria.

But first of all, I have emailed Volkbert directly asking him if he would be willing to post the pics here for me so it might be a small amount of time before they show up.

There is more than what is shown and some of it has gone to finance other collecting interests such as blades etc.

We are having a fairly nice militaria show and sale in Portland, Oregon this upcoming weekend so hopefully I will be able to select a couple of new items to post pics of down the road.

One grouping that I am currently purchasing is that of one Unteroffizier Joseph Mueller, flak gunner with the 9/241st ( mot. ) assigned to the 17th Flak Division. It includes both his WehrpaB and Soldbuch, both with photo's, as well as seven of eight award documents, although I am not sure that the Luftwaffe issued an award document for the Driver Proficiency Badge In Bronze.

These documents in order are, Annexation Of Sudetenland Medal, KVK W/Swords II Class, Russian Front Medal ( field issue document ), Krim Shield ( field issue with Von Manstein ink signature ), Luftwaffe Flak Badge, Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge, Rumanian Medal For The Crusade Against Communism With Bar.

It also comes with his discharge paperwork dated 7 May 1945.

A very interesting group to a man who served from 24 April 1936 until 7 May 1945.

If you have any questions concerning anything you see in the photographs once Volkbert can get them posted for me, I would be happy to answer. Thank you.

    Be good to each other.

    Bill

Hi Bill--I can hardly wait to see the pics of your stuff. Also--i'll make sure Erich sees this posting too--if he hasn't already. [IMG]

PS: 4 new items i'll have in about 10 days coming from Germany are:

DRL Sports Badge in Bronze stickpin.

DRL Sports badge in Bronze stickpin with a different type pin.

Prussian Oberleutnant Shoulderboards for: 1.Madgeburger Regiment "Furst Leopold von Sachsen-Anhalt" Infantry Regiment Nr.26.

Hessian Oberleutnant Shoulderboards for: Grand Duchy Hesse 4.Rheinisches Infantry Regiment "Graf Werder" Nr.30. :D

All foru of these items are beauts. IF that German dealer still has the Mackensen Honor Cross 2nd Class, when I can afford it--i'll be getting that item too. :D

    I love those "unofficial" awards.

Very nice. After watching "The Eagle Has Landed" the other day, I am starting to gather some interest in the Fallshirmjagers. I would be happy with just one full uniform complement. Thanks for Sharing Bill!

good grief Carl ! actaully after my last posting I was looking around the office. The sucker is only 10x10 and shelves are chock full of research materials. Let's see the unfinished/non framed Ta 152 print still sits on one shelf and an expected P-51D print to arrive but that can go on the south wall over the doorway and......nope just don't have the room my friend unless I move my "stuff" into the living room but wonder what the Mrs. would say ? can only imagine

Heh heh--i'll take pics of what I already have on my walls in my small living space--so I can show you what could pass for a decent display. ;)

What I have up--for the time being are my 5 original 1870 and 1880 Harpers Weekly woodcut/prints, my Away All Boats movie poster, my beir steins collection on the counter, my ribbon bars and some medals and badges sitting in a Ryker mount--waiting to be hung on the wall, my Blutfahn acting as a dust cover on my CD player with my Luftwaffe officers M-43 cap on it, most of my military history and mil collectors books--lining the base of an entire wall, my photos and prints etc--are sitting out as well. And thats all for now--till I can clear more space. [IMG]

    Greetings all -

First of all, I would like to publicly thank Volkbert for so graciously and willingly posting these pictures for me. Thank you Volkbert.

    Carl -

No, that is NOT a Hermann Goering panzer division tunic. I have a friend and collector who does own one of these HG wraps at the cost to him of $5,000 at the time of his purchase. He also owns a HG M43 panzer cap which also cost an additional $1,000. This was two years ago. Most likely prices have gone up. Unfortunately I could not afford an example then, and still can not today.

This panzer wrap is a third pattern German Army issue wrapper as worn by an Unteroffizier of the German Army from about the time period of late 1942 onwards. You might notice that there is no pink piping around the collar of the wrapper which is lacking in later period produced examples. Since this photo was taken, I located a four award ribbon bar in the "Austrian fold" styling which now decorates the tunic.

I purchased this wrapper from the American Army officer who bought it from the family back in the 1980's while he was stationed in Germany. It also came with the panzer trousers, and the man's original EK I. The original price I paid for all three pieces was $3,500 two years ago. You can't touch a wrapper alone for that type of money today. At least not in my neck of the woods.

Since then, I picked up a pair of non hobnailed panzer boots ( hobnails would be tough on the engine decking would it not! :>) ), a set of earphones, a set of throat mics, and the panzer M38 o'seas cap less soutache. A couple of these items are displayed in the pictures.

    Thank you for your inquiry.

    Bill
