That one must have been his "most disputed" actors-role, - who ever, or whatever made him do it?

In 1965 John Wayne was considered to be "the" Hollywood star and he get's to say one line in that movie; "Truly, this man was the Son of God."

    Cheers Ray, Biak, Ange,

Ray, the Cisco Kid aint fast enough to outdraw Duke ;-))

Biak, Jet Pilot is an excellent movie and is a hard one to get in DvD for some reason? Im still looking for an American copy of it on DvD. Something aboue him appearing with a sexy vixon like Janet Leigh is really something to see ;-))

Ange, he was great as the Centurian in: The Robe. I hated that his Cameo was all too short. ;-)) No worries on not hearing Dukes voice-I do have over half of his movies on DvD ;-)) The Spoilers was the latest buy and i'd go for Rooster Cogburn if I knew for sure if I already had it or not?

Dinah Shore , Blossom Deary,Jo Stafford ,Jeri Southern ...

Acts like Max Raabe und das Palast-orkester , or the 'Russendisko' projects by Vladimir Kaminer , hilarious stuff ..

This reminds me of a previous series of posts on who's faster on the draw, Clint or the Duke.

I've only seen a few John Wayne films, but I loved "They Were Expendable." Random trivia: anyone notice that the nurse was Mary in "It's a Wonderful Life"? :D

Speaking of something to do with Duke, two actors recently passed away that were in a Duke movie or so. They be: Richard Devon-who played Esteban in: The Comancheros, and Merlin Olsen-who played the huge Confederate Soldier in: The Undefeated.

Rest in Peace gents-you two will be sorely missed.

I think I either met you, Carl, or your brother over the weekend.

The old gentleman who allows us to play Airsoft on his vast property is a big John Wayne fan (he is in his 70's now). We were preparing to build a 16 x 24 foot building on his property (me and two of the guys) so went up to his home to ask permission. Probably spent half an hour talking to him and his wife (one of the guys with us is in his 40's or 50's and is their family friend). Anyways, I was mostly silent and just looking around at the walls. I noticed a framed Indian-style leather jacket, farm equipment and pictures, and a bunch of John Wayne 'stuff'. There was certainly a plate with is picture on it, hanging on the wall, and a few framed pictures of the man, and some movie posters. I also saw perhaps 50 - 100 stamps on a sheet of paper (collectors item by the look of it, with a Wayne image at the top, followed by stamps all from the Wild West type of films).

    Hi Matt, Ray,

Matt, that guy is a wise man-being a huge Duke fan and all. Speaking of, I noticed yesterday while browsing the DvD section at Wm that at least the ones here-have about 10 John Wayne titles for sale. I have all of them so I bough; The OPmega Man w/ Charlton Heston.

Ray, the tribute thing didnt work for me. Id like to see this one and then let the folks at Duke Wayne know about it in case they dont already know.

Thinking of Carl as I see that AMC has a John Wayne weekend on in honour of July 4th. Watch McClintock again - I don't think I'll ever get tired of it!
